Inspiring quote
"To laugh often & much; To win the respect of intelligent people & the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics & endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty; To find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson, on Success-
Thanks for sharing the above inspiring quote with me, Lauren! :)

Dear ML,
It goes without saying that you are MOST welcome :-)
:-)
I've got something so so similar to Lauren's post(on my wall and in my personal book for years). This is scary. In fact,I felt almost 'robbed' by this quote you've just posted- one which I held dearly with me for so many years!
This is the version I have:
"What constitutes success?
She has achieved success who has lived well;laughed often and loved much;who has gained the respect of intelligent people and the love of little children; who has filled her niche and accomplished her task;who has left the world better than she found it,...who has never lacked appreciation of earth's beauty, or failed to express it;who has always looked for the best in others and given the best she had." -Mrs A.J. Stanley"

^-^ coincidence huh!
I've just checked out your June 2005 blog archive. Wow! Yes. Coincidence! Great minds think alike ;) Hehe... :D
I've googled to find out whether the quote is originally Emerson's or Stanley's. Apparently it is Stanley's and it has been misattributed to Emerson. Anyway, perhaps it's Emerson's original too... whereby it's a mere coincidence -- great minds think alike :D
Btw Songie, your life's been a success. Keep glowing! =)
